Sorted Spellings

Privacy note

The short, plain-English version of how Sorted Spellings looks after your family's data.

Who it's for

Sorted Spellings is for parents and carers. You hold the account; your child uses it with you. An independent, parent-made tool. Not affiliated with any school.

What we store

  • Your Google account's email address and name (so you can sign in).
  • Each child's first name or nickname, which you type in (up to 6 children).
  • Each child's spelling practice: for each word and puzzle, how many goes, how many were right, and when they last practised.
  • Each child's saved shelter in the shelter puzzle (which stones, where), so it's there next time.
  • Each child's own best racing time for each of the last 8 weeks, and their racer settings (car colour, calm motion).

That's all. We never ask for a full name, date of birth, school, class, photo or location.

What we never do

  • No photos, no location, no chat.
  • No tracking, no analytics and no ads. The only cookies are the one that keeps you signed in and one that remembers which of your children is practising.
  • No selling or sharing with third parties. Pages load nothing from other websites.
  • No leaderboards, streaks or comparing children.

Where it's kept

In a database hosted by Neon in London, UK (AWS eu-west-2). The app's servers also run in London. The app itself runs on Vercel. Both act only as our service providers.

Deleting your data

Sign in, open Settings and choose Delete my account and all data. Your account, every child's profile, their practice and their shelters are deleted straight away and for good. To remove just one child, use Children. Nothing is stored on your device apart from the cookies above.
